Yes, I am fully bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates and am happy to share my certificate upon request. My policy covers injuries to your pet or another person or animal while in my care. It also covers damages to your home and property. Please reach out for information on limits.

Can you provide proof of a recent background check?

Yes, as a high school teacher and college professor, I have frequent background checks. I can provide more information upon request.

What are your pet care qualifications?

I was a veterinary assistant for one year at a local animal hospital (name provided upon request). I also am a local 5-star pet-sitter through the top pet-sitting app in the nation (can provide proof upon request). I am not including the name of the organization to avoid liability issues.

Can you describe what a routine drop-in visit looks like?

My visit starts with informing you that the visit has started via the Walkies app and entering your home. I typically let dogs out to potty immediately or take them on their walk. I feed them and give them their medications if needed. If there are cats I will clean litter boxes and place the waste in the trash can outside. If I notice any pet messes I do my best to clean those up and inform you of their presence. Finally, in the remaining time I spend time with your pet by playing with a toy, giving pets, or snuggling.

What does it mean for you to provide pet-sitting in my home?

I provide the services that are mentioned in the drop-in and also sleep over at your home. I do not stay the entire day in your home, but do provide enough check-ins throughout the day to ensure that your pet is properly cared for. I also gather the mail and put out the trash.

How do you deal with pet emergencies?

If there is a medical emergency on the part of your pet I will take them to the vet location that you indicated on your intake form. If that vet is not open then I will take them to Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital in Kirkwood as I have had very positive experiences with their emergency care. I will always inform you if your pet is experiencing an emergency and keep you up-to-date on any developments.

How will you communicate with me while I am away?

I will request that you download the Walkies app. I will provide visit information and communicate with you via the messaging function in the app.

Will you have me sign a pet services contract?

Yes, you will be required to sign a contract upon booking of services.
