About Me
Rachel Becknell
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have an animal companion. I firmly believe that growing up with pets leads to more kind and empathetic humans and I’m grateful to have had this experience myself.
I learned from a young age that if I provided the proper care for my beloved pets, that I would receive abundant love and satisfaction in return. Proper care involves learning the full range of needs and behaviors of each individual species so that you know whether your pet is hungry, tired, cold, hot, in pain, happy, or scared. Understanding this and knowing when to provide veterinary care has enabled me to have many senior pets, including several cats in their 20s.
In addition to my pet care services, I am an adjunct biology professor at a local college and taught science at several local high schools until recently. I have a Ph.D. in Ecology from Washington University in St. Louis and have lived in Spain and Japan for multiple years. I love all animals and jump at the opportunity to get to meet and care for even the most unique pets.
